This winter, important restoration and conservation work was carried out at Villa Emden. The roofs, terraces and facades were renovated, a new water purifying system was installed, the indoor and outdoor toilet facilities were modernized and the seminar rooms were refurbished.
This year we are presenting an exhibition of photographs of the villa. Starting with the construction of the residential building for the trader from Hamburg Max Emden (1927-1928), it shows the work that has been done over the years and the countless technical difficulties caused by the singular location on the Brissago Islands. Despite the significant logistic and technical support that we received, our experience has shown us just how complicated work of this kind can be when you are on an island!
